Fresh trouble for R. Kelly, charged with sex abuse with minors

R. Kelly is in fresh troubles as the king of R&B singer, 52, has been charged with 11 new count of sex abuse and assault involving victims between the age of 13 and 16 in Chicago.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports that Cook County prosecutors filed the new charges against R. Kelly on Thursday May 30th.

Chicago prosecutors charged R. Kelly with aggravated criminal sex assault, criminal sex assault, and aggravated criminal sex abuse, among others.

Among the new charges are four counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault, two counts of criminal sexual assault by force, two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse against a victim between the ages of 13 to 16.

The four aggravated criminal sexual assault counts carry maximum terms of 30 years in prison.

He was already facing 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse involving four women years ago, three of whom were minors when the alleged abuse occurred.

R. Kelly is scheduled to appear in court to face the allegations on June 6. In February, Kelly was arrested and charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse against four women.

It would be recalled that dozens of women had come forward over the years accusing the singer of abusing them.

In January a documentary series, Surviving R. Kelly, showed a number of alleged victims talking about their experiences. The singer, has repeatedly denied the claims.

He lost a civil court case, brought by a woman who accused him of sexual abuse, after he failed to appear at the Chicago court in April.
