Group is getting Nigerians to speak French

A Nigerian group, Parler Français Par Force, has a goal to get 30 million Nigerians to speak French language by the next ten years, 2030.

A statement by the group noted that the importance of French Language in Nigeria underscores their motive.

“The 14th of December 2019 marked the beginning of a new dawn for Nigeria and her future prospects both locally and internationally. The French language group in Nigeria called ‘Parler Français Par Force’ (Speak French by Force), has kicked off the super ambitious vision 2030 goal to galvanize 30 million Nigerians into speaking the French language. Schools, families, workplaces, businesses, would all have a feel of this vision.

Many may not be aware of the fact that French language is the second official language of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.  Sadly, this aspect of our national life has been left very silent. As Nigerians, we need the language to be able to linguistically and confidently be at par with our other francophone counterparts in international trade, politics, Academics, entertainment and in other areas of interests.

Credit must be given to Williams Dabo, the Founder of Parler Français Par Force, and the brain behind the Vision 2030: 30 Million French Speakers for his foresight and desire to continue to promote positive development in our dear nation – Nigeria. Get ready to be influenced and re-orientated by the beauty behind this vision”, the statement read.
