Nigerians angry, claim video showing pupils being served food in sheets of paper is from Kano school feeding program

 

Nigerians on the social media have expressed anger and claimed that the video showing pupils being served food on pieces of paper is from Federal Government’s school feeding programme in Kano State.

One of the major achievements of President Muhammadu Buhari administration in Nigeria is the free school feeding programme where the government aims to give pupils and students free lunch in schools.

 

So far, more than N2 billion has been disbursed to participating states for the programme.

The Federal Government has at different occasions boasted about the initiative. However, reports emerge frequently about abuse of children in terms of feeding in the programme.

 

The current is a video which has gone viral of pupils being served food in sheets of paper. The video was released by the Voice of America Hausa yesterday June 4th.

According to VOA Hausa, the pupils complained that the food they were being given lacked ingredients like the one their parents give to them at home.

When the reporter asked why the pupils were being served food on pieces of papers, the teachers who refused to give their names, said the Federal government told them they were going to provide them with plates but they are still waiting for the plates.
