Only illegitimate Igbos are opposed to freedom of Biafra—IPOB Leader

The Leader of the Biafra separatist group, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has said that illegitimate Igbos are the section of Igbo people who are opposed to the freedom and independence of the South-Eastern people of Nigeria.

Kanu has led the IPOB in the recent times to voice against the government of Nigeria especially the policies of President Muhammadu Buhari.

However, some Igbo people especially those in Nigerian government have kicked against the IPOB ideals.

In a message posted on his Facebook wall on Thursday, the IPOB leader said he admitted that fact that some Igbo people were offspring of Nigerian soldiers who raped Igbo women during the civil war from 1967 to 1970.

The message was captioned, THE SHAMEFUL BEGINNING OF YOUR TYPICAL ANTI-BIAFRA IGBO EFULEFU & WHY THEY DESERVE OUR PITY

“During the Biafran genocide (Britain, Nigeria-Biafra war) some Igbo women were raped by Fulani Janjaweed vandals (and other Northern and Western) soldiers.

Most of these women got pregnant and gave birth to the kids of their rapists.

Now we are more than 4 decades down the line and some of those seeds of rapist soldiers have grown to bear their own children.

And so I wonder if it is possible for these young Igbo to have inherited the hate their rapist grandfathers bore towards our ethnic group.

I am just wondering.

Is it possible for the hate against Ndị Igbo to be inherited?

Is that a reason for some of these middle-aged/young Igbo to get irritated every time Igbo progress is mentioned?

NB: This is something that is very difficult for me to say or admit, but it is the reality we will have to research. It is important that we put this discuss into our analysis of history.

Rape is a horrific crime against humans, and the crimes against Ndị Igbo will never be forgotten or go unpunished.

Whenever you come across an Igbo Efulefu, a self-deprecating anti-Biafra/IPOB poster on social media, please make sure your response is measured and be mindful of the abominable way they came into this world. They deserve our prayers and will surely return to their fathers’ people in the north someday”, the statement said.
