Nigerian Police Boss, recalls officers attached to VIPs
In the heat of his alleged disobedience to President Muhammadu Buhari on protection of hapless people of Benue State, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Ibrahim Idris, has ordered the withdrawal of officers attached to individuals and private companies.

Buhari, on his visit to Benue today, 72 days after about a hundred persons were killed by Fulani herdsmen, said he never knew that that Inspector-General of Police, refused to carry out his instruction on the Benue crisis.
But a Nigerian, who commented on the story online asked Buhari to “go and learn how to tell lies from Lai Mohammed”
Report say about a half of the force are attached to private individuals and companies who have no business keeping them.
The Head of the Force Public Complaint Rapid Response Unit, Abayomi Shogunle, stated this in a tweet on Monday.
Mr. Shogunle said the IGP has ordered that all those who have the police “SPY” number car plates to return them to the force transport officer.
He said the IGP has also set up a taskforce to check the covering of car number plates by some citizens.
Mr Shogunle’s tweet “#IGPIdris @PoliceNG has directed immediate – withdrawal of police officers attached to all individuals & private companies in Nigeria, Return of all Police SPY No. Plates to Force Transport Officer, Setting up of Task Force to check covering of car plate Nos. & Illegal use of siren,”
