SEE AFRIFF 2017 BESTS: Senegal’s Alain Gomis is Best Director
Senegal’s Alain Gomis has won the Best Director at this year’s Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF).
Gomis won the glamorous prize With his Felicite (2017).
Born in 1972 in Paris, France Alain Gomis is a director and writer, known for his works: Félicité, Aujourd’hui and L’afrance.
Also for her performance in the Peter Sedufia’s “Keteke”, Ghana’s Lydia Forson was named Best Actress
Acknowledging the prize via Instagram Sunday morning, the actress was full of praise to Sedufia, and co-star Adjetey Annang for their immense help in bringing out her character, a Ghanaian blog said.
A week-long annual festival held in Nigeria, it also consists workshops for industry people. It was founded in 2010 by Chioma Ude, and this year, came off from October 29 to November 4, with the AFRIFF Globe Awards crowning proceedings at the Eko Hotel & Suites.
This year’s AFRIFF event was graced by respected industry names as Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Kate Henshaw, Ramsey Nouah, Kunle Afolayan, Chioma Chukwuka-Akpotha, Kunle Idowu and Olu Jacobs, Bolanle Austen-Peters, Ini Dima Okojie, Linda Ejiofor, Omoye Uzamere, Nonso Bassey and Fred Amata.
Some One Hundred and Fifty (150) feature length, short, documentaries and student films were screened this year.
