Troops of 22 Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Operation Lafiya Dole said they intercepted three Boko Haram terrorists who were trying to wreak havoc at an Internally-Displaced Persons (IDP) camp in Borno State.
A statement signed by Director, Army Public Relations, Brig.-Gen Sani Usman, in Abuja yesterday, said if not for the efforts of the vigilant troops who engaged the suicide bombers, it would have been heavy casualties at the camp.
Items recovered from them, according to the statement, include two AK-47 rifles and two magazines with several rounds of ammunition, among others.The statement read: “Crack troops of 22 Brigade of Operation Lafiya Dole displayed gallantry on October 4, 2017 at about 6:05 p.m. by intercepting three Boko Haram terrorists who disguised as Internally-Displaced Persons (IDPs) and trying to infiltrate a barrier.
