Poetry: Nothing Lasts, By Kelechi Okoronkwo
Nothing under the sun forever lasts
Neither Joy nor Sorrow; Not Time or Season
Neither Power nor Servitude; Not Bloom or Gloom
But we wish somethings could linger and last
Like life and time of a very dear soul
Or pleasure and friendship with a real sweet soul.
But when their time is up on the watch
We can’t but helplessly watch
With tears in our eyes and memories on our minds
We watch as they too pass away with the winds
