Thanksgiving Day: Weah urges Liberians to reconcile with God
November 1st is Thanksgiving Day in Liberia. President of the Republic of Liberia, George Manneh Weah on Thursday sent felicitation message to all Liberians, urging them to gather and offer thanks to God in one accord for His perpetual grace upon the land.
In a statement by Presidential Press Secretary, Sam Mannah, Weah also urged Liberians to ask the Almighty God “to heal, unite and reconcile the Country back to God, and pray for God’s bountiful blessings to continuously abound, and for perpetual peace to reign”.
The statement read: The President of the Republic, H.E. George Manneh Weah extends heartfelt felicitations to all Liberians as we observe National Thanksgiving Day today, November 1, 2018.
It is the hope of the President that Liberians will use this day to give thanks to God for keeping us safe and protected as a Country since our inception as a sovereign Nation, despite the many challenges that have confronted us….
The President further wishes that Liberians will observe this day to heal, unite and reconcile the Country back to God, and pray for God’s bountiful blessings to continuously abound, and for perpetual peace to reign.
In the spirit of oneness and nationalism, and as we gather to offer thanks in one accord, Happy Thanksgiving Day to all Liberians on behalf of H.E. George Manneh Weah, President of the Republic of Liberia”, it read.
