The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said that the All Progressives Congress (APC), by its manifest retrogressive, violent and despotic proclivities, has proven to be the clog in our collective quest for national cohesion, happiness and economic prosperity as a people.
In a statement on Saturday, PDP said APC has demonstrated that it was never a political party designed for governance and development, but a contraption for oppression and vendetta.
“Already, there are plans by APC to extend the clampdown on opposition leaders to regular citizens, who have seen through their lies and deception and are in open agitation to vote them out in 2019.
We note that since the recent boast by President Muhammadu Buhari on his abuse of rights as a military ruler, there has been an escalation of clampdown on citizens, particularly, the opposition, in various parts of our country”, the party said.
PDP said it is also instructive to note that since it came to power by deceit and propaganda in 2015, the APC has done nothing except actions and comments that promote hatred, violence and daily bloodletting among Nigerians; causing of disharmony among arms and tiers of government in addition to undermining our democratic and security institutions.
“It is also on record that the APC has not formulated any clear-cut programme for good governance; it has never called its government to order in their recklessness, particularly, on the documented abuse of human rights and violation of our constitution and democratic order.
The APC has never intervened in the bloodletting in various parts of the country, caused to fester by its incompetent and insensitive administration; it has remained aloof, giving credence to allegations that such disturbances serve its purpose of promoting confusion to frustrate the conduct of a credible, free and fair general elections.
Despite attempts in blaming past administrations, it has since become clear that the on-going barefaced looting of our national treasury, particularly through the sleazy oil subsidy regime under President Buhari’s supervision, coupled with government’s gross incompetence and official highhandedness, are directly responsible for the economic hardship and escalated violence in our nation today.
The harsh policies of the APC administration, which has scared away investors and President Buhari’s unrelenting de-marketing of our nation in the international arena, have led to the massive closure of businesses, unprecedented loss of jobs, mass unemployment, dearth of foreign investments and total stagnation of our economy.
Uptil now, the APC has not offered any explanation to the leaked memo detailing the looting of N9 trillion at the NNPC, the budget padding in ministries, departments and agencies, stealing of billions in the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) and Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) intervention funds.
We want the APC and its leaders to know that they are not bigger than our nation. Nigerians have already reached a consensus against them and no amount of harassment, arrests and trampling will cow the citizens in their resolve to vote out APC in 2019”, said the party.
The PDP says President Muhammadu Buhari does not have a single development project initiated and implemented
Buhari does not have a single development project initiated and implemented, says PDP
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said President Muhammadu Buhari does not have a single development project initiated and implemented by his administration.
The PDP has charged Buhari to end his blame game and use of hate language against past leaders as cover for his poor performance, economic hardship and escalated insecurity his administration has caused Nigerians despite ample resources at their disposal.
In a statement on Thursday by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, the PDP said Buhari has also failed to fulfill the littlest of his 2015 campaign promises through which Nigerians were deceived to vote him into office.
“Now that he has failed, one wonders what other false promises the Buhari-led All Progressives Congress (APC) will anchor their 2019 campaign and elections.
It is tragic that instead of being remorseful, the Buhari Presidency finds it convenient to engage in endless blame game, shameful attempts to appropriate PDP projects and programmes, as well as dishing out of false performance indices ahead of its three years anniversary on May 29.
Worst still, President Buhari finds solace in commissioning projects executed by other leaders, like his humiliating commissioning of a regular bus station constructed by the Lagos state government and a borehole in Jigawa State, which show crass failure of governance.
It is embarrassing that whenever our President visits other world leaders, he would have nothing to present but mere rhetoric from a prepared speech, while other leaders proudly reel out their achievements.
Nigerians recalled that last March, our nation was embarrassed when the President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, cheerfully reeled out his achievements under one year in office, including his farming for job initiative, the senior high school free education, the one district-one factory projects, one village-one dam project among others, only for President Buhari to present an empty score card when it was his turn to speak.
Last month, Nigerians witnessed another international embarrassment when President Buhari could not present any development project before United States President Donald Trump, who made his nation proud by showcasing his achievements and the potentials of his country.
Nigerians can recall President Buhari’s poor showing at the 2018 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in London, where his only achievement was to further demarket our nation by declaring our youths as lazy and lovers of freebies.
President Buhari and his handlers must know that Nigerians are tired of their ineptitude and blame game. The beauty of democracy is that it affords the citizens the inalienable right to remove any government that does not effectively govern and this is the inevitable end of the APC, come 2019”, said the PDP.
Main opposition party in Nigeria, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has warned against any attempt by the ruling party, the All Progressive Congress (APC) to force itself on the people of Ekiti State, South West Nigeria in the coming governorship election.
National Chairman of PDP, Uche Secondus, said Nigeria might go into extinction if the July governorship election in Ekiti state is rigged.
Speaking at the flag-off of PDP’s local government election campaign in Rivers state, Secondus said his party would resist any attempt to thwart the will of the people.
PDP alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) rigged the Kaduna local government election, where his party won four LGAs, while APC swept 14.
“The forthcoming Ekiti state election is going to be a litmus test. We warn that if you attempt to rig Ekiti, it will be a recipe for crisis and we don’t know whether there will be Nigeria or not,” he said.
“We are bold to say it because you cannot take the peoples rights, you cannot deny them of their votes and we are saying and we want APC to say the same that it will be ‘one man, one vote’, ‘one woman, one vote’, ‘one youth, one vote’.
“We will never allow an evil individual to destroy this nation or to destroy our state. If you like wait for us, we refuse to be intimidated. We saw all that happened in Kaduna last Saturday. PDP won in all local government areas, but they over-turned the results.”
Secondus said that with the help of Nigerians, PDP is united to take over from the APC in 2019.
He said his party would provide the leadership that will create platforms of the unity for Nigerians.
During a dinner with the southwest caucus of APC at the presidential villa in Abuja earlier in the week, President Muhammadu Buhari urged the members of his party to take the mission to rescue Ekiti from PDP seriously.
VP Osinbajo is beneficiary of corruption, says PDP
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says Nigerians, particularly, the younger generation, are thoroughly disappointed in Vice President Yemi Osinbajo for allowing himself to be used as the poster boy for diversion of public attention from the impunity and corruption that saturate the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government.
As a professor of law, and an occupant of the exalted seat of the Vice President of our country, Prof. Osinbajo should know better than allowing himself to be used to bandy figures and make unguarded statements at public events, such as his comments at the APC ward congress in Lagos, where he described everyone else as “thieves”, the party said in a statement on Sunday.
“We note that Vice President Osinbajo has refused to heed wise counsel and accord respect to his office by desisting from such unguarded comments only because he has been sucked in and entangled in the propaganda, deception, impunity and sleazes that not only brought their administration to power, but have become its trademarks in the last three years.
We specifically invite Nigerians to note that all assertions by the Vice President, especially on the performance of the Buhari administration as well as his allegations and bandying of figures against the opposition, have remained unsubstantiated.
Moreover, Nigerians have noted that Prof. Osinbajo, in his ‘sanctimony’, has been silent on the exposed corruption under the Buhari administration, including the leaked memo detailing N9 trillion corrupt oil contracts at the NNPC, exposed sleazes in oil subsidy deals, diversion of Internally Displaces Persons (IDP) intervention funds, which includes the probe of a misappropriated N18bn in National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) under his direct supervision as well as other looting in government agencies such as the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
The Vice President is also ominously silent about the prevailing high-handedness and human rights violations and the aloofness of government resulting in daily bloodletting in various parts of our country.
Finally, we urge Prof. Osinbajo to take heed, retreat to the inner room, and conduct a soul searching before the great cloud of witnesses. He should also note that propaganda and, particularly, false accusations are not only abhorred by the Holy Books, but will also not deliver the APC and its incompetent administration from the resolve of Nigerians to kick them out, come 2019″, the PDP said.
FIRE STILL BURNING IN A ROOM AT THE SCENE OF A BOMB BLAST, WHICH OCCURRED IN THE PREMISES OF ADAMAWA POLICE COMMANDS ANTI-BOMB SQUAD AND MOTOR TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT IN JIMETA-YOLA ON THURSDAY (25/2/16). 1168/25/2/2016/AMA/BJO/NAN
PDP Laments Killings In Adamawa, Bayelsa
Main opposition party in Nigeria, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned as extremely wicked and heartrending, the horrible killing of 60 worshippers in a blast at a mosque and nearby market in Mubi, Adamawa state by insurgents.
The party also laments as shocking and devastating, the gruesome murder of Special Adviser to Bayelsa Governor Seriake Dickson, Mr. Ebikimi Okoringa by gunmen on Monday.
The PDP and indeed all Nigerians are deeply worried about the ceaseless killing of citizens, which has continued to escalate because of the aloofness of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressives Congress (APC) administration on issues of security in our country.
It is painful that while President Buhari and the APC Federal Government are busy misleading Nigerians and the world with false claims of having decimated insurgents, the same insurgents are having a field day pillaging our citizens in various parts of the country.
We hold that if the incompetent APC administration had not continued to issue false security assurances, these compatriots would not have believed a lie and dropped their guards when they would have adopted more precautionary measures; only to be slaughtered as soft targets by insurgents.
The PDP therefore charge our security agencies to insulate themselves from the APC propaganda and take urgent steps to tackle the security situation in the country. Nigerians look up to them now, more than ever before, to deploy their patriotism and professional skills to ensure the safety of lives in our country.
Furthermore, the PDP is shocked by the murder of Mr. Okoringa, a patriotic and selfless Nigerian, who worked hard not only for the development of his state but Nigeria at large.
We charge security forces in Bayelsa state to immediately spread out and apprehend his killers and bring them to book.
The PDP stands and commiserates with the families of Mr. Okoringa, the victims of the blast in Adamawa state and the daily bloodletting in Benue, Taraba, Nasarawa, Zamfara, Plateau, Kogi and other states, which have become the order of the day under the APC administration.
Finally, we urge Nigerians across board to continue to be alert and support one another irrespective of religious, ethnic and political leanings, especially at this trying time in the history of our nation.
Governor of Ekiti State, Peter Ayodele Fayose has said the crowd of supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the party’s rally in Katsina State on Saturday showed that the people have lost confidence in the Federal Government.
PDP’s Fayose flaunts crowd in Katsina rally
Governor of Ekiti State, Peter Ayodele Fayose has said the crowd of supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the party’s rally in Katsina State on Saturday showed that the people have lost confidence in the Federal Government.
President Muhammadu Buhari is from Daura, Katsina State.
Another photo of the event
Fayose @GovAyoFayose gleefully tweeted the pictures and wrote: “With other party leaders @the PDP rally held yesterday in Katsina, the home state of President Buhari. We must Change this failed Change”.
Meanwhile, the PDP has mocked the ruling All Progress Congress (APC) for ‘procuring endorsement from a fictitious religious group’ called Arewa pastors.
In a series of tweets on Sunday, the PDP said there was no amount of procured endorsements that can change the mind of the people.
“Arewa Pastors: The recent stage-managed political endorsement by the All Progressives Congress (APC) @APCNigeria and the @MBuhari Presidency, by procuring individuals who masqueraded as religious leaders, is hypocritical and signs of desperation.
“The @MBuhari Presidency’s hiring of supposed Arewa Pastors was a second attempt to orchestrate fake endorsements ahead of the 2019 election, recalling the recent Martin Luther King Jr. saga @TheKingCenter
Both procured endorsements, @APCNigeria which had turned out to be fake, are, to say the least, despicable and betray the nervousness of a sinking leadership, @MBuhari desperately trying to save its face, having been rejected by the people.
It is heartrending that because of the desperation of one man @MBuhari, the integrity of Nigeria’s seat of power has again been ridiculed as the world watched religious bodies and groups in the country disowning the procured band.
The fact that this disgraceful drama came barely a week after our nation suffered an international show of shame over @MBuhar’s presentation with a procured award fraudulently linked to Luther King Jr speaks volumes of this administration’s proclivity for falsehood and deception.
These disgraceful endorsements are being coordinated by three presidential aides, a cabinet minister from the southsouth and certain officials of the @APCNigeria, a project for which billions of naira have been earmarked.
We therefore charge all credible groups in the country to be at alert and resist any attempt by the @NGRPresident and the failed @APCNigeria to induce them to compromise their integrity, as well as guide against plots to use money to infiltrate and divide their ranks”, the party said.
PDP officially apologizes to Nigerians over misrule
Main opposition party in Nigeria, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially apologised to Nigeria for failing to led them aright, the inaction that cost them a re-election in 2015.
The party was in power for 16 years, from Nigeria’s return to democracy in 1999 to 2015. The PDP was criticised for lack of internal democracy and massive corruption.
The PDP is planning a come -back to power in 2019 election and has yielded to opinions that the party should apologise to Nigerians to have their mandate again.
The National Chairman of the PDP tweeted on Monday: “As the National Chairman of @OfficialPDPNig we admit that we have made some mistakes and we want to apologize for our past mistakes. We have learnt from our mistakes and we say “sorry” to all Nigerians that has entrusted so much to us #NewThinking”
President Goodluck Jonathan of the PDP lost to the opposition party led by former army General, Muhammadu Buhari. Buhari has shown some nerve in the fight against corruption. However, the 74-year-old general is not taking the ‘right’ steps on the economy and security.
Addressing stakeholders at the special session of the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo in the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Gates stressed the need for the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration to take a second look at the National Economic Plan in terms of its priorities for human capacity development.
He said the ERGP, which must reflect the people’s needs, should also give priority to human capital development over physical capital as it is designed currently.
“To anchor the economy over the long term, investment in infrastructure and competitiveness must go hand in hand with investments in the people.
“People without roads, ports and factories can’t flourish. And roads, ports and factories without skilled workers to build and manage them can’t sustain an economy,” Gates noted.
According to him, if the current trends in education and health continue and government spends the same amount with the same results, there will be no economic growth as the country will only be keeping with increase in population without improvement in Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
PDP decries ‘FG’s aggression’ Against opposition elements
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has alleged continuous aggression of the government in power against opposition elements in form of harassment, arrests and detention of its members in various parts of the country.
The PDP said the oppression come by agents and officials of the All Progressives Congress (APC)-controlled Federal Government and sought the intervention of the international community.
PDP National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, in a statement on Tuesday said the lives of its members and supporters are increasingly at risk as the government is becoming more intolerant of opposition, particularly, having realized that its chances of getting re-elected in 2019 has dimmed as the people have rejected it due to its abysmal performance in the nearly three years of misrule.
The PDP is alerting the entire world of the increasing aggression and cruelty against opposition members and perceived opponents of government by the APC-led Federal Government, which is now using the apparatus of state power in their desperation to cow and subjugate opposition, suppress constitutionally guaranteed freedom of speech and association in our country.
Today, there is thoughtless abuse of human rights in our country and the people now live in fear. Opposition members are now being arrested, manhandled and detained, with some of them having their family houses demolished for holding and expressing opinion even under a democracy.
Currently, our members and supporters in many states including Edo, Rivers, Kaduna, Kogi, Borno, Adamawa and others are being hounded for expressing opinion, particularity on the exposed corruption, abuses, constitutional violations and incompetence of the APC administration.
As we speak our Edo state Chairman, Chief Dan Orbih was summoned, questioned and his personal freedom curtailed by the police in Edo state for daring to speak against corruption in the state, an action which the unscrupulous officers at the command boasted will teach him and PDP members in the state, a lesson. We commend Chief Dan Orbih for his forthrightness even in the face of harassments and intimidation by the APC.
In Kogi state, there are reports of APC agents attacking and destroying property belonging to opposition members and supporters. Nigerians have not forgotten how the APC government in Kaduna state demolished property belonging to opposition members and perceived political opponents; how the PDP secretariat in Borno was destroyed and how our property and those of our supporters were destroyed by agents of government in Adamawa state.
We decry this raging intimidation of our party officials, members and supporters and call on all good-spirited Nigerians and the international community to stand up and condemn this drift towards a stone age despotism. Nigeria is a democratic state and we reject any attempt by anybody to suppress the constitutionally guaranteed rights of the people, particularly regarding the choice of how they can be governed.
The APC has failed and should not be allowed to vent its frustration on innocent Nigerians.
2019: PDP worries over underage voting, alleges falsification of figures on economy
Main opposition party in Nigeria, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said the election body, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been indicted for registering and issuing permanent voters card (PVCs) to millions of underage persons, particularly in Kano and Katsina states respectively.
Consequently, the party said if the INEC is not pressured to sanitise the voters register, the 2019 general election will be under a serious threat.
The party alleged that the federal government is cooking up figures to make people believe that the economy is recovering while in actual sense, the economy is getting worse.
In a statement on Tuesday, the party called on well-meaning Nigerians to lend their voice to the critical national issues.
The statement by the PDP national publicity secretary, Kola Ologbondiya read:
“ We have invited you today to address very critical issues of urgent national importance and to once again alert Nigerians of the heinous plot being hatched by the All Progressives Congress (APC)-controlled Federal Government to further beguile the people and perpetrate more harm on our dear nation.
1. INEC
As you are aware, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been indicted for registering and issuing permanent voters card (PVCs) to millions of underage persons, particularly in Kano and Katsina states respectively.
You are also aware that it took a press statement from the PDP and concerted outcry by Nigerians before the Prof. Mahmood Yakubu-led commission reluctantly accepted responsibility for this illegality. However, INEC has refused to take decisive steps to restore the sanctity of its register, particularly in Kano and Katsina states, but has rather made a puerile explanation of plans to investigate the allegation.
As we speak, the credibility of our electoral process under the current INEC is hugely in doubt. The nation was last Wednesday terrified by the commission’s Director of Publicity and Voter Education, Mr. Oluwole Osaze-Uzzi, who announced that INEC registered minors because its agents were threatened by members of the communities in those states.
By this alarming and unpatriotic statement, INEC under Prof. Mahmood Yakubu has completely discredited and disqualified itself and cannot be trusted to conduct a credible, free and fair general elections in 2019.
The import of this statement is that INEC under Prof. Yakubu is not firm in its acts and will consequently cave in and accept any form of irregularities once it is put under pressure by members of a voting community. It goes to say that this INEC can readily announce false results, cancel elections, alter polling procedures and allow any irregularities during the 2019 general elections once it is threatened by the All Progressives Congress (APC) or any other group for that matter.
If INEC is afraid of a voting community so much so that after registering minors, it still went ahead to process their data and issue them with valid voters card, then there is no way it can withstand the pressure and threat that we all know will be exerted by desperate APC forces, whose electoral strength, particularly in Kano and Katsina states, is now exposed to be based on underage voters.
Consequently, the PDP demands an immediate review of voters register, particularly in Kano and Katsina; we demand a revalidating the voters register to eliminate all the minors and insist that no election must hold in these states until the register is sanitized.
In order to achieve this, we demand that the revalidation/sanitization by INEC must be carried out under the supervision of all political parties, credible associations, reputable NGOs as well as the international community.
Also, the plan by INEC to ask EFCC to help them monitor campaign funds is clearly an illegal and Machiavellian way of suppressing opposition’s financial contribution and spending. It is a plot to detain, defame, intimidate and illegally block bank accounts of opposition members under the pretext that they have been mandated by INEC to monitor campaign funds.
It is trite law that ‘delegatus non potest delegare’. INEC and only INEC has the statutory duty to monitor campaign funds. The commission cannot delegate this function to any other government agency.
Nigerians have completely lost confidence in INEC under Prof. Mahmood Yakubu and we urge him to take the path of honour and do the needful before it becomes too late.
2. Manipulation of Performance Indices
In the same vein, we want to alert Nigerians and the international community of a heinous design now hatched by the desperate APC-controlled Federal Government to delude Nigerians on the true state of affairs of our nation, particularly on security and the comatose economy.
We have information that forces at the Presidency and the leadership of the APC, having failed to record any meaningful achievement in their three years of failed governance, and having realized that they have nothing on which to anchor their ill-lucked 2019 re-election bid, have mobilized their agents to commence the falsification of economic and development indices across all sectors, with a view to create a false sense of performance.
We are also privy to clandestine meetings and the engagement of certain unscrupulous Nigerians and foreign profiling firms, who have been heavily paid to fabricate, dish out and saturate our polity with fake performance indices and contrived polls in favour of the failed and incompetent Buhari-led Federal Government.
This face-saving stunt is being coordinated by a member of the cabal in the Presidency, alongside two prominent cabinet ministers and a top member of the APC.
As we speak, agents have infiltrated federal ministries and agencies with a view to inject fake performance figures, while the cabal is mounting pressure on statistics based organizations to manipulate performance indices in favour of the failed Presidency
In line with their design, in the next couple of months, the news media and the entire polity would be inundated with cooked-up indices, which will be well spiced up and heavily publicized to give unsuspecting Nigerians a false sense of hope and set the table for another round of electoral propaganda.
Part of this plot is to falsify figures to suggest sudden economic rebound, with false and unverifiable statistics in critical sectors, particularly, agriculture, youth empowerment, health, social safety nets, security among others to hoodwink the people.
There will also be frantic effort to lay claim on projects initiated and executed by the PDP; multiple commissioning of same projects like the railway project and the unmanned drone project in Kaduna state; awards of bogus contracts and procurement of international endorsements.
Our take is that this resort to falsehood has clearly shown the depravity of the APC in the face of its failure. Such a trip is practically of no moment as Nigerians are now better informed and cannot be swayed by imported indices and fabricated statistics.
We however wish to use this opportunity to alert the media, all Nigerians and the international community to, in the interest of our people, crosscheck all figures and indices coming from the Presidency, the APC and uncertified profiling agencies, who are being used by the Federal Government in this new attempt to deceive.
3. Government Impunity
We also want to inform Nigerians of the intolerance trend adopted by APC and its government in some states that are now demolishing property belonging to opposition members and perceived opponents of their 2019 re-election bid.
This morning, Kaduna state governor Nasir el-Rufai was reported to have detailed bulldozers and armored tanks to demolish a property belonging to Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi perceived to be against his 2019 re-election bid.
In Adamawa, the state government has pulled down billboards and signposts belonging to opposition parties while harassing our members and perceived political opponents ahead of President Buhari state visit.
In January this year, Borno state Governor, Kashim Shettima superintended over the demolition of PDP state secretariat in Maiduguri following the renewed popularity of our party in the state.
In Kogi, a property belonging to Senator Dino Melaye, who is known for his criticism of the APC derailed government, has been marked for demolition.
Today, despite our constitutionally guaranteed freedom of association and speech, Nigerians now live in fear of this intolerant, overbearing, bigoted and dictatorial APC administration seeking to foist a fascist regime on our country.
How do we explain or justify the evil plan of APC-led Federal Government to monitor citizens’ phone calls and social media communication purportedly to check for hate speeches without any enabling law. We advice the APC government to desist from this planned unconstitutionality, which threatens the very essence of democracy especially plurality of opinions.
It is on this note that the PDP raises a rallying cry to all well-meaning Nigerians, civil society organizations and the international community to rise up and collectively condemn the anti-people actions and proclivities of this incompetent and imperious government, which has brought so much pain to our dear nation”, it read.
PDP said Tinubu’s counsel suits President Mummadu Buhari
PDP HAILS TINUBU’S VERDICT ON EX-PRESIDENTS
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says the counsel by All Progressives Congress (APC) national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, that former Presidents of the country should quit politics and join the retiree’s club, best suits President Muhammadu Buhari.
he party said Asiwaju Tinubu’s stance completely vindicates the positions of former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Ibrahim Babangida, the PDP as well as majority of Nigerians, who hold that President Buhari should not seek re-election in 2019, having woefully failed in governance and nation building.
The party further said that President Buhari ought to step aside largely due to his inability to connect with the social and economic realities and speed of the current generation.
The PDP, in a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, on Monday, said Asiwaju Tinubu is proverbially passing a message to President Buhari and his supporters on the fact that their candidate no longer enjoy mass acceptance among Nigerians ahead of the 2019 general elections.
Every discerning Nigerian has discovered the fact that Asiwaju Tinubu is subtly passing a critical message to President Buhari and his supporters that he should not contest the 2019 election and that Nigerians have already moved on even without them.
Even Asiwaju Tinubu knows that President Buhari, for obvious reasons, is the most qualified of all our elder statesmen to join the retiree’s club and save the nation the agony of more years of misrule characterized by untold economic hardship, heavy bloodletting and general indignation.
The supporters of President Buhari should therefore accept the reality by reading the handwriting on the wall and heed wise counsel from well- meaning Nigerians.
In any case, the APC is already on a death throe, having led the worst government in the history of our nation and will end up as the first party in government at the centre that will be rejected by Nigerians at a second attempt.
It is to this end that the repositioned PDP has opened its doors to all in the patriotic quest to end the APC misrule by ensuring a new engagement among Nigerians from all walks of life.
The PDP, through our platform, will enable Nigerians the opportunity of bringing up a dynamic and result-oriented Presidential candidate imbued with the required capacity and who understands the dynamics of growing a prosperous nation of our collective dream.
